BOARD NOMINEE PROFILES

Jenny Schneckloth

  • I've been back in the Metro area for 4 years now, but began attending BCC with my family when I was in 5th grade - 43 years ago.

  • I currently volunteer whenever there is an opportunity - church clean up, Easter eggs, city-wide outreach.

  • Nursery, taught Sunday school for 2–3-year-olds, greeter, Master's Commission, youth group, Junior High cell group leader, and adult cell group leader.

  • I was a full-time minister (children's pastor) for 17 years at three churches. I believe I would bring a very different perspective to the board with many years of experience at board meetings.

  • I love that we bring people back to the Lord. When I was 23, I had stepped away from the church for a couple of years. I came back to BCC to visit and during the worship service, the Lord showed me such love and grace, I never turned back. My heart has always been to bring people that are distant from God, back to Him and I love how our church does this every Sunday. I also appreciate the healthiness I see on our staff and their hunger for God. Those are leaders I want to follow.

  • Reaching the lost. As a licensed minister who is now working full-time in a secular job, I have such a heart for the lost all around me and want to help the rest of our body see their calling to reach the lost as well. We are truly all full-time ministers to the lost in our jobs, workplaces and neighborhoods.

  • I am passionate about Jesus. He is the most important part of my life and my reason whether I am all alone, with my family, or with my co-workers. Prayer and Bible study are a daily part of my life and listening to Holy Spirit. I believe fasting is an important part of growing and hearing the Lord. If I were serving on the Board for BCC, I believe prayer would be key to hearing what the Lord is saying and how he would direct me and our board. Our task would be to represent the Bride of Christ to the Bridegroom spotless and without wrinkle.

  • Thrift shopping, prayer walking, trying new recipes and spending time with my family.

  • One of my favorite hobbies is cooking and trying new recipes weekly. My go-to comfort food is trying new things!

Laura Ackerman

  • 30 years.

  • Life Group Leader and Worship Team.

  • Youth, Missions Trips, BCC Kids, Tech, Master’s Commission.

  • I have deep roots in BCC and am personally a product of the mentorship and community this church brings to those maturing in their walk with the Lord. I desire to help build that in every person who comes across our campus. I also would bring a young mother’s perspective to the Board dynamic and conversations.

  • Deep friendships and relationships.

  • I am passionate about exegetically studying the Bible and would be interested in training the Body to do that more through our sermons and small groups.

  • In this season, the Lord is doing a lot of maturing work in me by teaching me to parent my children well, which is sanctifying work indeed. I have to daily rely on Jesus to respond in gentleness and grace, be consistent in discipline and tone, and teach and cherish my two little boys — while recognizing the Lord does all that, and so much more, for me. They are my and my husband’s greatest reward, but also our greatest opportunity to daily die to self and recognize we are investing into something eternal by loving them well. God is constantly reminding me to keep my eyes on eternal things and not the temporary. I view being on the Board as an opportunity to also invest eternally and expand our mission to saturate our city and world with God’s heart.

  • Going to the zoo with my family.

  • Sourdough recipes.

Irma Aguirre

  • I have been attending BCC for about 13 years now.

  • I am currently serving in the Kids ministry.

  • I have been involved in mission trips, outreach projects, and various community service projects.

  • One strength I would bring to BCC's Board is my decisive approach to serving others, keeping teams focused and aligned with our church's mission of nurturing faith in children and families while extending God's love through the community impact.

  • My favorite part of BCC is the passion and the love for sharing God's word not just within our walls but throughout our local community and around the world.

  • I would be most excited to deepen and expend BCC's impact in the Hispanic community, drawing from my own deep connections to Latino Culture through business and community ties. Strengthening our presence there through targeted services, bilingual ministries, and relational evangelism would powerfully amplify our mission to share God's Word locally, forging bridges, nurturing faith in families, and beautifully reflecting the diverse splendor of God's kingdom.

  • My relationship with the lord is one of total dependance and intimate communion. Without Him, my life would lack the purpose, joy and direction it has today, every step and every decision flows from seeking His wisdom first. Over a Board Term, I see Him leading me to steward this role with servant hearted, discernment, and drawing on His Spirit for strategic clarity, unity, building decisions and bold outreach. He will guide me to align every vote and vision with His mission for Bcc, expanding His Kingdom through our church with humility and power.

  • I'm currently in school for business administration, sharpening my skills in management, operations, and strategic planning.

  • Small things that bring me immense joy are the smile of a child, the happiness of others, and especially the laughter of my own children. These moments remind me of God's goodness and fill my heart with gratitude.

Alexis Benitez

  • I have been attending BCC a little over 2 years.

  • I currently serve on the Welcome, BCC Youth, Life Group Leader, and the Prayer Teams. I have also been given the opportunity to serve on the 2026 Nicaragua missions trip team.

  • Passion for research. In my job, as committee member, I have done work for the Procedures Manual and Legislative committees for the District Courts in the state of Nebraska. This same passion for research translates into my spiritual life. Diving deep for long periods of time while doing Bible study is not uncommon for me. I also do not shy away from collaboration and intently listening to others.

  • The strength in community among the BCC Family. People here are more than willing to come along side with others as they heal, go through tough times, and/or celebrate victories.

  • I wish to deepen my knowledge of discipleship. I hope to continue expanding Life Group opportunities especially for new believers to orient their faith and spiritual disciplines. I believe in calling out other people’s potential, but we need to set them up for success by building strong Christian character that can carry their ministry potential forward.

  • Growing up in the church, my relationship with the Lord has shifted throughout the years. In the past 5 years there has been a deepened hunger for the Word. This has taught me how to pray in alignment with Scripture. Prayer would be the starting point. I see the Lord leading me through Scripture and Him showing me how it would apply to a certain situation.

  • The Bible Dept. with Dr. Manny Arango has been one of my favorite faith-based podcasts. The way he breaks down Scripture and communicates deep truths has been helpful to me.

  • My favorite Saturdays are the ones where I get the opportunity to reset. It usually starts with coffee, prayer, and spending time studying the Word. Then, enjoying breakfast with my wife, Esme, and getting ready for the gym. After that, I would either read or watch something with my wife. I am definitely a homebody.

Hope Valentine

  • 37 years.

    • Grief Share - Life Group Leader

    • Pastoral Care/Pastor Appreciation

    • Hospitality/Koinonia/12 Soups of Christmas

  • Gospel Choir, Greeter's, Christian Ed, Grief Share/Divorce Care, Life Groups, Women's Ministry, Nursery/Children's, Flood Recovery, Seasoned Saints, Outreach/City Serve, Sarpy Holiday Asst., Missions Trips, Youth, Benevolence.

  • Leadership and Service/Hospitality/Connecting People.

  • Champion for Spiritual Growth; Solid Leadership.

  • Intergenerational Ministry with a focus on Seniors. As a Senior myself, I feel called to encourage others of this age-group that God is not done with us. We still have purpose!

  • My relationship with the Lord is my #1 Priority. Consistent time in the Word, Worship, Prayer, Serving & Reaching the Lost . The "word" the Lord has given me for 2026 is "New". I believe He's leading me into a 1Cor.2:9 season - " No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love Him..." Along with an Eph. 3:20 promise :Now unto him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.....". "Is.43:19- "See, I am doing a [New] thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

  • I love variety. So each Saturday varies- watching sports, spending time with friends/ family, resting, traveling, etc.

  • As crazy as it might seem, I am currently learning Balance. Learning how to reset, letting go of things I'm passionate about (work) to take on things God has in store for me in this next season.

Zach Wolf

  • I have been attending BCC for 16 years.

  • I currently serve as a Life Group leader and as a Prayer Team Member.

  • I have previously served in youth ministry, men’s ministry, on staff with Bellevue Master’s Commission, outreach projects, greeting team, and tech team. I have also gone on various missions trips within the United States and overseas.

  • I believe that one of my spiritual gifts is the gift of discernment, and I believe that gifting is valuable to the board when praying for the church and decisions that have to be made.

  • I love the diversity our church has. You can meet someone from so many different walks of life and backgrounds. It is such an incredible way to learn and gain an understanding of a different aspect of God's heart. No matter what someone's background is, our church is incredibly welcoming to anyone who walks through our doors.

  • An area l have always been passionate about is discipleship. I believe that discipleship is a key aspect to everyone's walk with Christ, no matter how long you've been following Him. I want to see the amount of people who want discipleship in their life increase. As well as the amount of people who want to disciple others increase. I believe that our church will grow and be closer to Jesus when we have more people invested in all aspects of discipleship.

  • God speaks to me through my quiet time with Him, and it's my desire to be intentional to seek God's heart for what He wants for the church during this board term. I believe God has new things in store for BCC, and I want to have an open heart and mind for whatever that looks like according to His will. It is my desire to thank and praise God for what He has done in the past at BCC but pray into what He wants for our future.

  • I have been learning and practicing how to make BBQ and have found a lot of enjoyment in trying different methods with smoking meat. My wife still isn’t convinced I need to buy a brisket every week to practice.

  • I would probably choose 99 to Beat. The games on that show seem really fun. A lot of the games are games Pastor Richard made us play in youth when I was a leader for him. I feel like I already have an advantage.

Linda Stargell

  • I have been attending BCC for 34 years.

  • Prayer team, Life Group Leader, Hospitality and anything that is needed.

  • Noah’s Ark Preschool, Choir, Welcome Team, Children’s Ministry and Women’s Ministry.

  • Great listener, love for people and a great supporter.

  • How people are loved.

  • Discipleship and follow up with people.

  • My relationship with the Lord is love. I love God and am thankful for all He has done for me. In this season of my relationship with Him, I am in a searching season for what He has for me. I believe God has called me to always love people and I am walking with Him on how to love our people well and reach out to others. How do I see Him leading me over the Board term? At this moment, I’m not sure what that will look like as I’ve never been on the Board before. But I know I’m called to be a support for Pastor Andy, and my goal is to always serve and love God’s people. I know over the Board term, I will continue to pursue God’s heart for others and how he first loved us.

  • The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren (a book I like to read every other year).

  • Doing things with my family or my friends.

MICHAEL SMITH

  • 27 years.

  • BCC Kids and Worship Team.

  • BCC Kids, BCC Youth, Worship Team, and Outreach Projects.

  • Wisdom and Financial Knowledge.

  • I love our churches heart to saturate our city and world with God's love.

  • Financial freedom and spiritual guidance. I am a professional portfolio analyst who understands economics and investments. God has also been opening my eyes to the unseen realm.

  • I am completely dependent on God daily for the strength to do what needs to be done and the patience to do it His way. God has recently opened my eyes to see the bible and who He is in a new way. I am excited to dive into the bible more, reading it like it is the first time. I believe that God is revealing this to me, and I feel that God is calling me to share this new found wisdom with those that have been Christians for a long time and may be missing this amazing part of who God is.

  • The Unseen Realm by Michael Hieser.

  • Survivor.

Soledad Sanchez

  • 39 years.

  • Kids BCC, For Bellevue Team, Military Parents Night Out and anywhere I am needed.

  • Outreach projects.

  • I bring a combination of cultural perspective, operational leadership, and a heart for serving people well. As a Hispanic woman, I naturally see how the church connects—or sometimes struggles to connect—with diverse families and communities. I want to help ensure that people feel genuinely welcomed, understood, and included, not just invited. In my role as a medical office supervisor, I manage both people and systems every day. I’m used to creating structure, improving processes, and making sure things actually get done. I bring a mindset of accountability, follow-through, and clear communication, which I believe helps turn vision into action. I also bring the ability to stay calm under pressure, navigate challenges, and work through difficult situations with both compassion and clarity. Most importantly, I want to serve in a way that supports the mission of the church, helps leaders stay aligned, and ensures we are stewarding our people and resources well as we follow the direction of the Holy Spirit.

  • BCC Kids and Youth have always been my favorite part of this church since I was 12!

  • I would be most excited to help deepen and expand life groups, with a focus on Bible study and meaningful community for both men and women. I have a heart for creating spaces where people feel seen, known, and supported. Strong, intentional life groups can help build deeper relationships, strengthen faith, and ensure that no one feels overlooked or disconnected. I believe investing in these smaller communities is key to growing both spiritual depth and a stronger, more connected church body.

  • My relationship with the Lord is personal and growing. I rely on Him for guidance, strength, and wisdom in both my life and leadership. He continues to shape my faith by teaching me to trust Him more, stay grounded in His Word, and lead with humility and purpose. He reminds me to be still and listen..... Over this Board term, I see Him leading me to serve with a listening heart, to seek His direction in decisions, and to be intentional about supporting others. I believe He is calling me to help build stronger connections within the church, ensuring people feel seen, valued, and encouraged in their walk with Him.

  • Godfather's pizza just beef.

  • Watching Alex and my grand kids play in sports and family time with my parents and siblings. We are a tight nit family and we always gather to watch sports, eat and hang out!

Dan Miller

  • 19 years.

  • BCC Kids one-on-one buddy, For Bellevue Team, Military Parents Night Out. I enjoy helping out wherever I am able: stacking chairs and tables in the auditorium, filling eggs, bringing cookies, etc.

  • Greeter, Seek & Save, CityServe, Kids Life Groups, Harvest Party, Trunk-or-Treat, Feed the Multitudes, Easter and Christmas Choir. I was part of several couples who assisted in The Porch Life Group, and as such, I led group and worship when the leader was absent and helped lead breakout sessions.

  • Because my parents, my wife’s parents, and my wife and I have all built our families through adoption, and my wife and I work together as one body to support our household through differences with physical disability and neurodiversity, I believe I am uniquely able to understand challenges that many do not. Serving on BCC’s Board will be an opportunity to share what God has cultivated in me: compassion for people who are “different” and a vision for the church as a family where everyone participates.

  • I love our culture of participation: BCC is a church that is about serving others, and everyone is invited to be a part of that. Joining in serving at Feed the Multitudes and the Harvest Party was a big part of what led us to make BCC our church home. And after the isolation of COVID, the people serving in BCC Kids made our daughter feel welcome even as we were finding our own place in a Life Group. I really believe there is a place for everyone at BCC to participate beyond filling a seat on Sundays.

  • I would love for the whole church to see and be invested in the amazing work the Next Gen pastors are doing in BCC Kids and YTH. What if kids became active participants in the life of the church rather than feeling separated into their own corner? What if more of us saw volunteering with Next Gen as an opportunity to be challenged to grow in childlike faith? I want to encourage the kind of intergenerational connection that we see in Pursuit Night and YTH Takeover Sundays, so that “for the next generation” is something all of us personally participate in, and our kids and students feel fully included in the larger church family.

  • I have had a relationship with Jesus for as long as I can remember, and as I have grown older, that relationship has grown and matured along with me. A K-12 Christian education gave my childhood faith a strong Biblical foundation. Serving as a worship leader, Sunday School teacher, and Deacon at the small church where I grew up increased my boldness and commitment. Being part of the BCC family has been about examining and stepping into my faith on my own and as the leader of my own family. Most recently I have felt the Lord teaching me the importance of connecting with and serving others. I expect that serving on the Board will be another season in which He continues shaping me as I use what He has taught me so far to serve His people faithfully.

  • The Lord of the Rings has been my favorite book for nearly all my life. My mom introduced me to it in elementary school; I read it aloud to my younger siblings on family road trips, then to my daughter a few years ago. Tolkien’s genius is in creating a fantastical story full of characters that feel real. If you want to hear more about how his life and faith are woven through the book or how he was instrumental in leading C. S. Lewis to Christ, I will gladly talk your ear off about that!

  • A wooden travel chess board that I carry with me in my bag everywhere. Setting it up at gatherings is a fun way to connect with people of all ages, and I’ve enjoyed being able to share my favorite game with kids at Life Groups, Pumpkin Bowl, and Bellevue Berry Farm.
